Assosa University and Jimma University to undertake a joint project on Tropical and Infectious Diseases

A half day long institutional partnership consultation is underway between Assosa University and Jimma University at Bamboo Paradise Hotel in Assosa today.

The Presidents of Assosa University and Jimma University, Dr. Kemal Abdurahim (PhD) and Dr. Jemal Abafita (PhD) respectively, are present on the consultation and have briefed about the activities of their respective institutions and have reaffirmed, in their remarks, their firm commitments to work jointly.

Among the themes of the consultation is launching of a joint research projects on Tropical and Infectious Diseases (TIDs), a project which would focus on the research & control of tropical and infectious diseases.

Dr. Desta Ejeta (PhD), Senior Researcher & Coordinator for Tropical and Infectious Disease Center at Assosa University and Professor Delnesaw Yewhalaw, Tropical and Infectious Disease Scientists at Jimma University, have presented the prior ongoing activities of the respective institutions in the research and study of TIDs.

It’s expected that the parties will sign a Memorandum of Understanding which would serve as a guide for launching of a joint project in the research, study and control of TIDs as well as future collaboration in various fields at the end of the consultation.
